[ january goals ]

I can't tell you how many times I've written this blog - I almost gave up having goals because I couldn't find/think of things that I would be able to stick to. There were so many damn "I will not" sentences/goals that it frustrated me.

Feeling that way, I walked away and thought about myself, my kids ( still feels weird writing that ), my husband + my friends. All I could think of was that I wanted TIME.

Now before you roll your eyes and say "Well, Sasha. You can't possibly make "time" an actual goal" or "yeah, yeah, yeah - you need more than 24 hours in a day.. you and everyone else."

Here is what I actually mean:

I want time for family and friends to accomplish their own goals.

I want time to slow down for my babies so that they can grow infinitely, so I can enjoy them at this point in life.. but I want time to speed up because I cannot wait to see all of the wonderful things they will do, be and accomplish.

I want time to be on my side so that I can see the world - whether in person or through google.

I want time to actually matter and to be worthwhile.

I NEED time to actually matter and be worthwhile.

So, taking that - I sat down again.. this time at midnight. When everyone in my house was asleep, when the tot was in his dreams, while the husband rested preparing for the next day, while the infant suckled on nothing + smiled at something in his littlest of dreams.

I can't make goals for the year because things can and will change. So, instead, every month I will write my goals for the month + do my very best because that is all that matters, right?

january 2 0 1 8.

practice patience.
try a new recipe.
read a book.
wake up earlier.
time management.

So now, on my little journey to making this month count. What about you ? What are your resolutions this year?

  2. I love this! My husband was telling me the other day that he read a study that suggested that one of the things people spend money on that ACTUALLY increases happiness is anything that saves you TIME. It's not about the time itself, right? It's about being able to spend the time you have doing what you love most with the people who matter most. Best wishes for the new year!

  5. I too enjoy monthly goals, I find them a but easier to work on by slowly adding more goals each month instead of a TON of goals set to start January 1st. Thank you for sharing your goals, they are great.

    1. Definitely! It almost sets you up for disaster! Unless you're super good about keeping to them! But with a tot and a newborn at home, that's kind of difficult! Thank you!

  7. Regardless of what people think, time CAN be made. It's called, adjusting priorities. It's not easy but it's worth it.
